Sandy Liew Wins Free International Conference.

Queens East Lt. Gov. Sandy Liew has won a free registration for this month's Kiwanis International Leadership Conference in Salt Lake City.

She was selected for the Art Riley May is Membership Month Challenge. She won because the Queens East Division had the greatest percentage of membership growth during this Kiwanis year. In addition to the free registration, she will receive $350 toward the cost of her plane flight.

Kiwanis Queens East division’s journey to Ronald McDonald House during the pandemic.

In collaboration with other clubs from the Queens East Division, we visited Ronald McDonald House at New Hyde Park, Long Island. We successfully brought in non-perishable food, juice boxes, surgical gloves, masks, face shields, hand sanitizers, and gift cards. Celebrating Lunar New Year has long been a beloved and huge holiday tradition to many cultures specifically Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese. The Lunar New Year of 2020 falls on January 25th (Saturday), and the festival will last to February 8th, about 15 days in total. 2020 is a Year of the Rat according to the Chinese zodiac, an animal that symbolizes smart, charming and imaginative. Each year between the eve and Chinese New Year, we gather together with friends and family for a reunion dinner. This is the old family tradition that passes on to the generation.
