Queens East Lt. Gov. Sandy Liew has won a free registration for this month's Kiwanis International Leadership Conference in Salt Lake City.

She was selected for the Art Riley May is Membership Month Challenge. She won because the Queens East Division had the greatest percentage of membership growth during this Kiwanis year. In addition to the free registration, she will receive $350 toward the cost of her plane flight.

Twenty other lieutenant governors received a $75 gift card to the Kiwanis Family Store.

Since Oct. 1 the Queens East Division has added 38 new members. Liew has sponsored 13 of them herself.
